University City and school district rival McCluer suffered poundings at the hands of MS-B's varsity basketball squad to help kick off the 08/09 season.
The Lady Bulldogs start their home schedule 2-0 with a 65-25 win over the Lions from U-City and a 67-46 victory against the Comets. Markeita Baker led MS-B with 22 in the win over McCluer. Lulu Jackson chipped in with 16 and Monai Douglass scored 12 points.
Entering both games ranked #1 by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Berkeley showed why they deserve the early nod.
